Step back in time at Beaumanor Hall's Nostalgia Show

Set in 34 acres of Leicestershire countryside, The Nostalgia Show, held at the 19th century Beaumanor Hall on Sunday 28th July, brings together the very best of classic cars and family entertainment.

Sponsored by ClassicLine Insurance, more than 500 fascinating vehicles spanning over 90 years will be on display for visitors to enjoy. And that’s not all as more than a dozen clubs will be attending, including the Jowett Car Club which was formed in 1923 and is claimed to be the oldest one-make car club in the world.

The clubs are sure to display some great vehicles and will be on hand for a friendly chat about their chosen marque. There is plenty more to admire with owners bringing along a wealth of classic British favourites from the likes of Ford, MG, Jaguar and Triumph. If you enjoy something a bit older, you won’t want to miss the 1923 Ford Model T and charming 1935 Austin Ruby.

Those that prefer their classic with a more European flavour will be spoilt for choice, too, thanks to a range of superb models from the likes of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, along with an exciting array of Porsches from a 914/4 to a 911 SC. And helping to celebrate some notable marque and model anniversaries, visitors will certainly appreciate the likes of the Citroen Traction Avant, Fiat 500, and Ford Capri.

Fans of performance cars are also in for a treat, with the more modern classics including a Ford Sierra Cosworth 500, 1998 Lotus Esprit, and a number of TVRs all of which are guaranteed to grab the attention of young and old enthusiasts alike. Summer also means plenty of drop-tops on show, including favourites such as the Volkswagen Golf and Beetle and a rather-rarer Rover Metro Cabriolet.

The show also features a trader village and autojumble so not only can you see fantastic cars, but you may find the parts, spares and tools you need to keep them on the road.

Visitors to the show will be able to vote for their favourite car in the Pride of Ownership competition and rounding things off will be the concours award ceremony which takes place at 4.00pm.

It all adds up to a great way to spend a summer Sunday, but it is not just about the cars. Beaumanor Hall itself has a fascinating history - including acting as a secret listening station during WW2 - and you can book a tour of the Hall to find out more. And be sure not to miss the live music, with talented vintage singer Carrie-Anne entertaining visitors with hits from the 1940s, 1950s and the present.

Gates open at 10am until 4pm. Admission starts from £6.40 for adults, £3.20 for children (4-16 years), with a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) for £16 when booked in advance. Tickets also available on the gate. Free parking for all visitors.
