New look to this established event will provide a grand day out for enthusiasts and families.

The glorious grounds of Weston Park (at Weston-under-Lizard, between Wolverhampton and Telford) will host the Gemini Events’ Motorfest on Easter weekend - Sunday and Monday 27th and 28th March. With a brand new look for 2016, this popular and hugely well-attended fixture on the classic vehicle calendar will welcome classic cars, motorcycles, military/4x4s performance/custom cars, classic commercials, tractors, and stationary engines. Over 50 local car clubs are likely to be attending and it is anticipated that there will be up to 1,000 vehicles on display. An interactive arena timetable throughout both days will feature vehicles from the 1940s to the 1980s, American vehicles, classic tractors and fire engines. Commentator Brian Page, himself a classic car owner, enthusiast and historian, will be introducing the exhibits and interviewing the owners. Bound to raise more than a few cheers is the introduction of the famous and highly entertaining feature of Gemini Events’ shows, the ‘Decibel Duel’, where spectators will decide on what is the loudest vehicle at Weston Park. Other new features for 2016 include ’Pride of Ownership’ awards and a ‘Best Dressed’ competition – a chance to get dressed up in period outfits to match the vehicles. Music will be provided by 'The Glamophones', the girls performing close harmony songs from the 1940s right through to modern day hits – all with their own vintage twist. Hobsons Brewery from Shropshire will produce a commemorative ale for the event to be enjoyed on the day by spectators and, for the drivers, to be taken home in a bottle or two. A Food Court area will provide catering facilities. Quite a day out for all the family! The beautiful Weston Park House was the ancestral seat of the Earls of Bradford but was gifted to the nation by Richard, the 7th and present Earl. Visitors to Motorfest will be able to purchase reduced price tickets to visit the house with its Victorian library containing over 3,000 books, and see the stunning dining room with Gobelin tapestries and paintings by renowned artists including Van Dyke. Adults £3, children £2.50. Pre-booked entry to Motorfest for classic vehicles (with up to two occupants) can be made via the Gemini Events website and costs just a £3.50 administration fee. Pre-booking closes on 28th February but may close earlier if site capacity is reached. There is limited on-site camping available for Motorfest. Call 01527 831726 for details. Entry on the day: Adults £10, children (aged 4 – 16) £5. Family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £25. Gates open at 10am.
